Certain Updated Forms go into effect on April 1 with no grace period
As of April 1, 2024, a new fee rule will be implemented affecting various forms. There will be no grace period granted on this occasion. The affected forms include the I-129, used for the petition of nonimmigrant workers, the I-129CW, used for nonimmigrant temporary workers in CNMI, the I-140, used for the petition of foreign immigrant workers, the I-600, designed to classify orphans as immediate relatives, and the I-600A, used to request expedited processing of the orphan petition and its supplements.

While in normal circumstances a grace period is granted for transitioning to new forms, in this case, the necessary changes to implement the new fees are reflected in the 04/01/24 editions of the mentioned forms. Preliminary versions of these forms are already available on the respective websites associated with each form.
As of April 1, 2024, applicants and petitioners must file the 04/01/24 editions of these forms, accompanied by the corresponding fee as indicated in the USCIS Fee Breakdown G-1055. It is worth noting that earlier versions of the mentioned forms will be rejected, and only those postmarked on or after April 1, 2024, will be accepted.
