With 35,000 Applications, USCIS Reaches the Highest Number of Job Submissions in Its Entire History
USCIS announced that it has issued hundreds of job offers and continues expanding its hiring process to bring in new “defenders of the nation.” Since the start of its campaign on September 30, the agency has received more than 35,000 applications, a figure that surpasses any previous record for a position within the institution. According to USCIS, the outreach strategy on social media has motivated many U.S. citizens to apply and participate in efforts to strengthen the immigration system following recent challenges at the border.

The agency indicated that it is streamlining its internal processes to speed up the onboarding of personnel committed to key tasks such as interviewing applicants, reviewing immigration petitions, and collaborating in the identification of individuals with criminal backgrounds or who do not meet legal requirements. This approach seeks to reinforce operational capabilities in security and verification functions.
USCIS Director Joseph Edlow stated that the campaign has received a significant response and that the agency is already moving forward with the selection and acceptance of candidates. He highlighted that many applicants come from sectors such as law enforcement and the armed forces, profiles that contribute experience in public service and community protection.
USCIS also reported that some positions could offer incentives such as hiring bonuses of up to $50,000, assistance with student loan repayment, and flexible or remote work options. These measures aim to attract talent quickly and competitively, especially for entry-level positions that do not require a college degree. The agency will continue holding job fairs and promoting openings through uscis.gov/join and uscis.usajobs.gov.
