USCIS Opens New International Office in Quito, Ecuador
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced the opening of a new international office in Quito, Ecuador, which will begin operations on September 10, 2024. This office will be located within the U.S. Embassy in Quito and will focus on enhancing refugee processing capacity and facilitating family reunification.
The opening of this office is part of USCIS’s commitment to the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) and aligns with the goals set forth in the Los Angeles Declaration on Migration and Protection. For fiscal year 2024, the admission target for Latin America and the Caribbean has been set between 35,000 and 50,000 people.

The Quito International Office will support the U.S. government’s efforts in the region, including the processing of refugee applications and family reunification cases. USCIS personnel will conduct interviews, process Form I-730 (Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition), take fingerprints, oversee DNA sample collection, and carry out fraud detection activities.
Services at this office will be available by appointment only. Updated information about the office, including services offered and procedures for scheduling an appointment, will be available on the USCIS website.
The Quito office will be USCIS’s twelfth international office, joining existing locations in Ankara, Beijing, Guatemala City, Mexico City, Doha, Guangzhou, Havana, Nairobi, New Delhi, San Salvador, and Tegucigalpa.
