Portuguese nationality has become a more direct pathway to reside in the United States, thanks to Portugal’s inclusion in the Treaty of Commerce and Navigation, which facilitates obtaining the E-2 business visa.

The E-2 visa allows a national of a treaty country to be admitted to the United States by investing a substantial amount of capital in a US business.
