More than 2,000 people arrived in the U.S. through the reunification program for Colombians, Salvadorans, Guatemalans, and Hondurans.
The family reunification program launched in July 2023 by U.S. immigration authorities for citizens of Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.
Officially known as the Parole Processes for Family Reunification (RFP), this program is aimed at nationals of the four countries: Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras; whose relatives are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, and who have received approval to reunite with their family in the U.S.

Colombians, Salvadorans, Guatemalans, and Hondurans who meet these requirements may be considered for parole on a “case-by-case” basis for a period of up to three years. After that period, they may apply for legal permanent residency in the U.S.
How to achieve family reunification through this avenue? To be eligible for this immigration benefit, U.S. citizens or relatives with permanent residency in the U.S. must file a Form I-130 or Petition for Alien Relative. Direct family members of the beneficiary are also eligible for these processes.
These new processes are by invitation only. Once invited, they can submit an application on behalf of their beneficiary and eligible family members to initiate the process of consideration for advance parole.
Individuals authorized to enter the United States under these processes may apply for employment authorization while on parole.
