Important Notice on Venezuelan Passports

The beneficiary must have a valid and current passport. Certified extensions of passport validity fulfill this requirement. If a beneficiary’s passport validity has been extended, the expiration date of the extension should be reflected as the passport’s expiration date. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will not authorize travel if the beneficiary’s passport or extension is expired.

In the specific case of Venezuelan passports, according to the decree from the National Assembly issued on June 25, 2024, Venezuelan passports issued before this decree remain valid for ten years after the expiration date printed on the passport or after the date of the most recent extension (prorogation), whichever is later.
