CBP Eliminates Scheduling Feature in CBP One App
On January 20, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the removal of the scheduling functionality from its mobile application, CBP One. This change impacts foreign nationals who previously used the app to submit information and schedule appointments at eight ports of entry along the southwest U.S. border. As a result, all scheduled appointments have been canceled.
What Does This Mean?
CBP’s decision means that individuals seeking admission at ports of entry will no longer be able to schedule appointments in advance through the app. However, the agency has stated that it will continue processing foreign nationals efficiently and in compliance with current immigration laws.

Notification to Affected Individuals
Foreign nationals who had scheduled appointments were notified of the cancellations. Although the CBP One™ app remains operational, its scheduling feature has been disabled.
CBP’s Role in Border Security
CBP is the primary law enforcement agency responsible for U.S. border management, with over 65,000 agents tasked with protecting the nation by land, air, and sea. In addition to ensuring national security, CBP facilitates legal trade and travel, promoting economic prosperity through innovation and collaboration.
Future Implications
While CBP has not provided details on a replacement for the eliminated feature, this change could impact the admission process, increasing the need for individuals to present themselves at ports of entry without a prior appointment. Those affected are advised to stay informed through CBP’s official channels for further updates.
