USCIS Adjusts Several Immigration Fees for Fiscal Year 2026 Due to Inflation
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced in the Federal Register an adjustment to several immigration fees for fiscal year 2026, in accordance with the provisions of H.R. 1. These increases correspond to the inflation recorded between July 2024 and July 2025. Since July 2025, DHS confirmed that, from now on, these adjustments will be made annually as required by the legal mandate.

The updated fees will take effect on January 1, 2026. All immigration benefit requests filed or postmarked on or after that date must include the new amounts. Among the forms receiving increases are various versions of Form I-765 (EAD for asylum applicants, TPS, or parole), Form I-821 for TPS, and the annual asylum fee, although the latter remains suspended under a court order.
On the other hand, some fees will remain unchanged, such as the initial fee for Form I-589 (asylum application), the EAD renewal for asylum applicants, and the cost of the I-360 petition for Special Immigrant Juveniles. DHS also published a separate notice on the inflation adjustment specifically related to parole fees.
