DHS launches Operation Charlotte’s Web to reinforce immigration law enforcement in Charlotte, North Carolina
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the expansion of Operation Charlotte’s Web in North Carolina, focusing on undocumented immigrants with criminal records. According to DHS, nearly 1,400 detainer orders had not been carried out, allowing these individuals to remain free in local communities.
The operation seeks to strengthen the presence of federal law enforcement in Charlotte to ensure public safety. DHS officials stated that the measure aims to protect residents and reduce risks associated with offenders who have criminal histories.
