ICE Arrests 214 Undocumented Immigrants for Sex Crimes Against Minors in Houston

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported the arrest of 214 undocumented immigrants in the Houston metropolitan area during the first six months of 2025. All individuals detained were accused or convicted of sex crimes involving minors.

This figure exceeds the total number of arrests made by ICE’s local office during the entire fiscal year 2024, when 211 arrests were recorded for similar offenses. The increase is attributed to a strengthened immigration enforcement strategy implemented by the current administration, which includes the formation of multi-agency immigration enforcement teams across different regions of the country.

These teams are composed of federal agencies such as the FBI, ATF, DEA, CBP, the Diplomatic Security Service, the U.S. Marshals Service, and state and local law enforcement, all working with ICE to locate, arrest, and deport foreign nationals with serious criminal records.

Paul McBride, acting director of ICE’s Houston Field Office, emphasized that these efforts have led to “significant improvements in the safety of Southeast Texas communities,” noting that officers work daily to ensure individuals with criminal backgrounds do not remain in the country.

Among those recently detained are individuals with multiple prior deportations, charges of aggravated sexual assault of minors, and offenses related to alcohol use. Some have already been deported, while others remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

ICE’s Houston field office has jurisdiction over 57 counties in Southeast Texas, from Beaumont to Corpus Christi and from Houston/Galveston to Waco. The community can assist by reporting suspicious activity or crimes by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE or completing the online form available on the ICE website.
