The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced the completion of the random selection process for H-1B visa registrations for fiscal year 2025. This process, conducted to determine which petitions can be submitted under the regulatory numerical cap, has reached the maximum required number of registrations.

    Key Points of the Announcement:

    • Selection Completed: USCIS has selected enough unique beneficiary registrations to meet the maximum H-1B visa cap for fiscal year 2025.
    • Notifications Sent: All potential petitioners whose registrations were selected have been notified and can now submit their H-1B petition.
    • Petition Submission: H-1B petitions must be submitted within the timeframe specified in the selection notice, which is at least 90 days.
    • Additional Requirements: In addition to the random selection, petitioners must meet all existing legal and regulatory requirements for petition approval.
    • New Fees and Forms: USCIS reminds that new fees have taken effect for most immigration requests and petitions, including H-1B petitions. The most recent version of Form I-129 must also be used.

What Does This Mean for Petitioners?

    • Opportunity to Submit the Petition: Petitioners whose registrations were selected now have the opportunity to submit their H-1B petition, provided they meet all the requirements.
    • Important Deadlines: It is crucial that petitioners submit their petitions within the specified timeframe, using the correct forms and paying the appropriate fees.
    • Comprehensive Evaluation: While random selection grants eligibility to submit the petition, final approval will depend on a thorough evaluation of all aspects of the application.
